Alice Rogers
My husband Wayne and I have been attending Good Shepherd for nearly 15 years. I grew up in eastern Ohio, the daughter of a United Methodist pastor and school teacher. I came to Kentucky in 1973 to attend and graduate from college. I met and married Wayne during that time. I began attending Episcopal parishes with him as our careers took us to live in Oklahoma and California. We still enjoy visiting Episcopal and Anglican parishes in our travels throughout the U.S. and abroad. We have two adult sons, Alex in Michigan and George here in Lexington.
I was confirmed at Good Shepherd about 10 years ago. During my time at Good Shepherd I have been involved in Godly Play, VBS, centering prayer, women’s Bible study, care ministries, newcomer outreach and Room in the Inn.
My career has been focused in public relations, publications and philanthropy in higher education, state government and most recently for 10 years at God’s Pantry Food Bank. I retired in 2021 and enjoy travelling and gardening at our home in Wilmore.
